Laurinburg Highland Hooligans Add Jordan Young to Coaching Staff

Pitching-focused coach brings collegiate and summer-league experience to Laurinburg

LAURINBURG, N.C. — The Laurinburg Highland Hooligans today announced the hiring of Jordan Young as assistant coach. Young joins the staff with a background built on pitching development, player health and collegiate coaching experience across multiple programs.

Young played collegiately at both Mid-Atlantic Christian University and the University of Maine at Presque Isle. After his playing career, he moved into coaching with stops at Kentucky Christian University and Central Methodist University. He also spent two summers coaching in the SCBL with the Regulators Baseball Club, gaining experience working with college players in a competitive summer environment.

Young's coaching philosophy centers on the mound. He focuses on keeping pitchers healthy and helping them develop and refine their mechanics, an approach that supports both short-term performance and long-term growth.

The hire also reunites Young with Highland Hooligans coach Odom, alongside whom he has coached before.

“I am excited to join the community of Laurinburg and continue to help the team improve, as well as coaching with Coach Odom again,” Young said.
